Simpler Community Structure
|
We reorganized communities by scope to make navigation simpler and groups easier to differentiate:
- Broad Channels — Broad, high-relevance communities. Everyone belongs to at least one. Not sure where to post? Start here.
- Focused Tributaries — Topic-specific communities like beaver, QRiS, and big communities of practice.
- Local Streams — Place-based, organization-specific, and course + workshop groups.
We consolidated some quieter groups to bring more conversations in front of more eyes.
We also added everyone to a full community group: Working for Healthy Riverscapes. This is the place to post anything that might be interesting to everyone, or where to post if you're just not sure where to post.
You have also been added to groups based on your involvement with riverscapes, but feel free to leave or join others as it fits your interests — this is your community.

We're moving away from the generic live feed. When you log in now, you'll land on the My Communities tab, which shows you what's happening in all of the spaces you're a part of. If you want to post to the entire Riverscapes Community, as if with the Live Feed, post in Working for Healthy Riverscapes.

More Opportunities, Events, + Resources
|
We're actively populating the platform with more of the content you told us you want, plus job opportunities, events, trainings, and webinars, relevant to riverscapes work. And you can too — if you're hiring, hosting an event, or know about an opportunity worth sharing, please post it.
|
Coming Soon
We're not done yet. In the next few weeks, you'll see an updated navigation bar and a new Resources page that consolidates tools, links, and support materials all in one place.

What We Need From You
These structural changes help, but they're just the frame. Like beavers to a BDA, this community comes to life when you show up.
- Sharing what you're working on
- Asking questions you're thinking about
- Responding when someone else starts a conversation
- Posting resources, insights, or project updates
- Adding opportunities and events you think others should know about
|
If you see someone wade into a discussion, jump in. A few thoughtful replies can turn a post into a real exchange and build momentum for more people to meaningfully share.
Riverscape challenges cross geography, disciplines, and sectors. The solutions must too. We're building this platform to help you see each other, learn from each other, and get more done together.
Please reach out if you have questions, ideas, or would like to know how you can help vitalize this community. Let us know if you're interested in specific roles or ways to get involved.
Cheers,
The Riverscapes Team
